The pipes, the pipes are calling...I've been listening to the Animals lately, and of course after hearing Sky Pilot, I got to wondering: whither bagpipes?
So, the question before the forum: Do you know of any prominent use of bagpipes in rock music?

Does "Mull Of Kintyre" (P. McCartney, Wings, 1977) count?

Hmm... I haven't this album by Roy Wood, but if the cover is anything to go by:

I haven't really gotten into much of Roy Wood's solo stuff, so I can't comment on the instrumentation on Mustard. His crazed glam-prog-rockabilly stuff with Wizzard is a gas, though!
It seems that Mustard is a true solo album, with Roy playing all of the instruments:

rockin' bagpipesThe Real McKenzies.
I just listened to "Outta Scotch", "Loch Lomond", "Will Ye Be Proud", "Sailor Man" and "My Bonnie". Tons o' bagpipes. MY Bonnie was more buzzsaw guitar with only pipes in the intro, but in the other songs bagpipes are prominent throughout.

Thanks for the tip, mr bil. I'll definitely have to check them out.
Maybe ten or so years back at the Pittsburgh Irish Festival, I saw a group called Brother. They were from Australia, but they sported kilts, and played the pipes and some digeridoo. Pretty wild show, heavy on the traditional stuff, but at the end they started doing the Phantom of the Opera (yeah, from the Broadway show) on the bagpipes before whipping into something a bit more trad, thank god!
They had some cds at the show, I think, but I didn't check them out, so I can't say how much the pipes were played.

This is haunting me... I know there's something in my past that would fit this question, but it's just not coming to mind.
The Real McKenzies sound fun, thanx for the tip.
