Sweeet ThursdayBTW: I just picked up a copy of that album by Sweet Thursday about a month ago as well at a local vinyl shop in Hamden, CT. Have not listened to it yet. Interesting that you should mention it in your post regarding the Soft Maching & Kevin Ayers, Art.

Is that the Columbia re-issue?
Sony/M.I.L. Multimedia released the album on CD in 1998.
The buzz around this record was huge in the early seventies. It makes for enjoyable late night or rainy day listening. Nicky Hopkins is just all over the damn thing! That makes it worth spinning, if for no other reason.
Peace!

Yep, it's a re-issue on the Great Western Gramophone label (distributed by Columbia) previously issued on Tetragrammation.
It's pretty rainy here so perhaps I'll spin it to help get in the mood.

I havn't ended up this depressed since I listned to Procol Harum's second album - Shine On Brightly.
Side 2 is opening with a groove tho...

The pace definitely picks up, by side 2.
Gilbert Street is another one of those "Hey I've got time for a p***s and a smoke while this sucker plays out." tracks.
Peace!
