Norman Smith

Talented music producer and engineer Norman Smith has passed away at age 85. This guy worked with The Beatles, early Pink Floyd, and produced the Pretty Things psych masterpiece, S.F. Sorrow.

Here's a link to see & hear Hurricane Smith on Top of the Pops (I think):

While producer/writer/performers aren't uncommon today, Norman Smith stands out in a small field in the 1960's.  Who else was there?  Lee Hazelwood and Rod McKuen, maybe?  It's amazing that he made the jump from the Beatles and Pink Floyd to rather blandish pop like "Who Was It"...

And that video!  That hair, that leisure suit!  Well, good for him.  I'd be only too happy to wear some questionable fashion while storming up the charts.  Wink
