It's not just you, Rockin' Art. I've got super high speed with special verizonite™ fibers, and the BCQ signal was constantly dropping.
This has happened pretty much every time I've tried listening to the BCQ stream

Winamp was doing a great job with the stream on my end, when it was at 32.
Buffering like a champ on the slower speed.
I'm just waiting for the day when everybody goes to aac+ Sounds better than 128/44 on a 22 kbps stream. Works in icecast, too!
Peace!

Alright guys, I dropped it back to 32kbps last week and will keep it there for the foreseeable future. I'll also look into the aac option...
The pheed from our server, http://69.93.242.138:8018 should not be a problem in terms of dropping & buffering. However, the stream on port 8020 originates from a relatively stupid computer at master control in Monticello, ME and that's the one that drops and/or skips and/or rebuffers ever 20 seconds or so. With everything they have going up there, that computer and the subsequent audio stream are obviously low on their list of priorities.

Last week's stream came through just fine!
I don't even bother trying the 'BCQ servers, because they never work.
I've been nutzoid over AAC+ streams of late. You can stream better audio than something running at 96 kbps, with a 24kbps/44kHz signal.(in stereo!)
Previously the only decent compression mode was MP3PRO, but it was never widely used and the stream was compatible with Winamp, VLC and the like. Problem was, unless you found a decoder, the sound sucked on ice!
Newer versions of Winamp already have the codec built in. It's a fast free download for people running I Tunes and WMP.
Peace!
