Chas Kitt has a couple of tracks for download on Garage Hangover.
I was knocked out by "This Bad Girl". Great "mosquito" fuzz, corny lyrics, the whole bag.
I used to find a lot of vintage Japanese "group sounds" stuff when I lived in California. Most of them were serious dissappointments. The Wild Ones were definitely NOT very wild. The Launchers single looked like it would be some sort of groovy little Beatlesque number. No such Luck......
The Cups are a different story altogether. Fantabulous band, I'm tellin' ya!
Peace!

Rockin' Art, you are so right about the Golden Cups! Excellent tracks.
I like the site--I'm always on the lookout for garage sounds, and this page has some great stuff, not just music, but background on the groups, which is something I look for.
It's also cool that you can look by state/region. There were some groups from Pennsylvania that are worth a listen. I dig the sound of young PA! _________________ One chord is fine. Two chords are pushing it. Three chords and you're into jazz. |

The Mops are weird, but fun. On their album, it's a bunch of covers of chart hits (in Japanese) and berserk originals like "I'm A Mops".

For another track by the Golden Cups, try checking out the Used Bin Forever blog--there's a version of Hey Joe to listen to.

The Mops.
One band that flew over or under my radar.
(As I stab away at my bubble of credibility with the blunt fork of ignorance.)
Lol!
Peace!
