I just caught a pretty cool look at the life of HS Thompson today.  It's Gonzo: The Life and Work of Dr. Hunter S. Thompson.  Pretty good, too, although it doesn't hurt to be famliar with HST, if not a fan.

The main focus is on the "golden age" period from Hell's Angels to just after Fear & Loathing on the Campaign Trail.  There's also a fair bit on his youth, but the later years are glossed over.  Still, there's a tremendous amount of the man's life crammed into two hours.

Well worth a look!  It's just a shame that it's not getting a wide release - it's definitely getting booked to the "art film" circuit.  I saw it at the Regent Square theater in the east end of Pittsburgh, a fine single screen place, and one of the few "art" cinemas left in the area.

Looks good, Joe.  I may have to wait for the dvd though.  Doesn't appear that this will be anywhere near me.
