Here is the latest buzz from CKDU via an email thread between them and Jason {one of our favorite listeners} in Halifax. Looks like it's up to us to set a date at this point:

Cool. We also broadcast online, so they could always pick up the feed online using our hi-fi stream and just broadcast over the computer. We used to do that for one of our shows which was co-produced here and at a station in Ontario. There is a danger of the stream dropping, but it didn't really happen often, and as long as there's someone in the studio (in Maine) to put on a CD or go on-air when the feed drops, you can do a little tapdance until the feed works again.

I'll check with the programmer for that time of night. What was the date?

M.

They would probably like a Saturday night. The logic being, that if they
host their show from CKDU between 23:00 - 0000 (local time), they might be
able to feed their show out to WBCQ (I'm not sure how they transport their
program from their studios in CT to the WBCQ transmitter in Maine) live at
the same time. I'll ask them for suggestions and have them get in touch, if
that's ok?

Hey Jason,

That sounds like a fantastic idea to me! The only problems would be that
we'd need to have someone from CKDU on board to tech for you and we'd need
to find a programmer who is willing to have their program preempted to
make room for the broadcast. I wouldn't be able to confirm until we had
those things sorted out. (Program preemptions always come down to the
programmers saying "ok!")

Is there a date and time of day that you were most interested in?

M.

Hi Melissa,

I had sent an email to Michael Catano a few months ago regarding the "Lost
Discs Radio Show" which CDKU syndicates on Tuesday mornings. I've been
listening to the LDRS for a few years now, mostly on shortwave, and am in
regular contact with the folks who produce the show - and we thought it
might be fun to do an episode of LDRS from the CDKU studios some Saturday
night in August. I said I'd take the idea to CDKU (I used to serve on
your finance committee back in the summer of 1999, when Fiona York was the
station manager) to see if you folks would be interested. Michael put me
on to you becuase you have program control - so would CDKU be interested
in hosting a live edition of the Lost Discs Radio Show sometime in August?

Here's hoping!

-Jason
