Another excellent broadcast, enjoyed by the stream.

A great pick from Chesty, and a hilarious impression of Joe by Doc.  If you have to use the phone patch more often, why not get Doc a ventriloquist doll to portray Joe with?  Great fun at parties!

Doc & l'il Joe (artist's impression):

Y'know, I'm kind of uncertain about how I feel about this... I like the ventriloquist thing, but definitely not being "l'il" anything.  Not that I'd want to be Mr. Big Stuff, either.

Here's a  video from the Bonzo Dog Band, with a disturbing ventriloquist bit late in the clip:

If you don't want to watch the whole thing, here are a couple of pics...

It's part of a song called "Little Sir Echo" which seems to have been a pop hit in the 30's or 40's.  In the middle of it, one of the band (in this case Sam Spoons) is brought out made up (kind of) like a dummy, and sat on Viv Stanshall's lap.  Viv sings "hello" and Sam "echoes" it.  In the great tradition of voice throwing, a glass of water is produced, and Viv begins to drink it.  Instead of continuing to sing, Sam as the dummy makes gurgling "glug glug glug" noises.

Weird, but kind of funny.  The reunited Bonzos are still doing this routine!
